MnD - 3* Heroes Design (2015/06/06)

In MW, rarity of heroes is very important as the higher the rarity, the more powerful the hero's skill will be (in most of the cases). And of course, the more rare the hero, the harder you can obtain (some require tcrystals, which is very tempting if you have the cash to spend on so you can skip the lucky draws).

Personally, I don't like this design of higher rarity = absolutely stronger. Yes, it is very motivating when you get a 4* star. But how about the 3* stars? Are they really so incapable to be on the battlefield?

MW has something to deal with the rarity issue. Take 3* archers as example. Only 3* archers have "Rain of Arrows". This is a good trade-off between a hero with weaker stats but more powerful skills. 3* musketeers can be another example. They aren't too unique in terms of skills, but musketeer minions are really strong.

However, the rest of the 3* heroes aren't that lucky.
- 3* MA is just a weaker version of Nicola;
- 3* Infantry is pretty useless with the invincible shields and weak minions (Reinnard, the 4* version, isn't good either);
- 3* Obsidian Halo, having potentials as tanks, are not very practical;
- 3* Pikemen...having potentials with their AoE skill against strong healing team, are not too practical too (they die so fast);
- 3* Pavisers are good in terms of the the "passive" active. Probably they will shine in higher levels when minion outputs becomes very high but they stand no chances against AoEs;

Can MW has more to "rarity = power" issue and give chances to the 3* heroes? A good suggestion is to add cost limits to rally in PvP. Higher the rarity, higher the cost.

  2. 3* Poly Mages are fine, as well. And well... 3* MA are awesome in conjunction with Nicolai, Elizabeth support mages like Sarah Phil and Merlin and some tanky frontline

    1. I forgot the mages lol. Yes the poly mages are good with max skills. Dunno y no one use them practically.
