Beginner Guide - Hero Role Part 2 (2015/09/18)

Hope this series is helping you understand more about the game, and most importantly, developing your own strategies and rallies that rock!

Today, we are going through Support and Healer, who provide utilities to improve other roles' performance in battle. They dont work too well alone.

Support
Supports are heroes with skills that deal no damage but buff/de-buff targets (excluding heals, which I regard heroes with heal as Healer). They can turn the tide if they are positioned well, meaning that their positions have to be tailor-made for each battle to maximize their potentials.

There are 3 skills that I see potent @ PL30-50:

1. Polymorph (Belthor):
• Turn enemies into sheep with 0 defense and can do nothing (attack, move and dodge)
• High proc rate
• No counter-measure against polymorph in v1.8 (in v1.8.5, Temple Cavalry is immune to polymorph)
• Perfect against Pavisers with super high defense (e.g. 3* morning star Paviser, Alash)
• Perfect against DPS units (e.g. 3* Spartan)
2. Potential Stimulation (Edward IV):
• Increases hero's percentage damage for the whole battle
• Moderate proc rate
• Perfect on Casters (e.g. 3* archer, Sarky)
• Need good positioning to avoid buffing wrong hero (e.g. other Support hero)
• Not so good in higher PL
3. Debilitate (Morgana);
• Avoid enemy hero to cast spells for a period of time
• Moderate to high proc rate
• No counter-measure against Debilitate
• Perfect against enemy's Casters and Reinhard
• Need good positioning to avoid casting on wrong hero (e.g. Leonidas)

Great and easily obtainable Supports @PL 30 - 50

1. 3* Polymage, slightly weaker than Belthor

Unfortunately, 3* Curse mage is not good. Although they can reduce Casters' damage, it is not effective (>60% damage reduction but only for 6 seconds).

4* heroes recommendation @PL30 - 50

1. Belthor, Polymorph is always OP
2. Edward IV, Potential Stimulation. Good for early PLs
3. Morgana, Debilitate. Good against casters and Reinhard
4. Jerome, to revive heroes with a reasonable proc rate. Good at this level but not high PL

And if you get higher PL, Cicre becomes very potent Support who causes huge distruption. She might not be the most popular heroes in many people's mind but she is really good in my opinion, especially if your enemies are with very strong heroes.

Healer
Healers heal other heroes and minions so they can keep fighting. There are heals which heal heroes only, and heals that heal everyone. @PL30-50, hero-heals are way better as the damages are mainly from Casters. Protecting Casters is the key to battles.

Great and easily obtainable Healers @PL 30 - 50
No, unfortunately. 3* healing mages aren't worth to invest in since they don't have a high proc rate to heal.

4* heroes recommendation @PL30 - 50

1. Phil, his heal is very frequent and accurate if positioned well (eg always on Reinhard r tanks)
2. Engeue, he is exceptionally great with GRD or other tanks (he gives a shield to a random hero close to him and himself regularly, which heals them when they are hit by skill damage). I hate him so much.
3. Hynciath, heal everyone but relatively aggressive than other healers; A great tank as well
4. Manto, not yet out but her AoE heal (which works like morale heal) is great. Compared to Sarah, she is more reliable.
