Game News - Weapon vs Armor System (2015/08/30)

The old restrain system (e.g. Infantry > Pikemen > Cavalry > Infantry) will be removed and the new weapon vs armor type system will be in place.

Before we look into the figures, you need to understand the relationship between weapons and armors. In v1.8.5, each minion class is set with a weapon type and armor type. Each weapon type can deal bonus damage to certain types of armors and have reduced damage against some other armors. And the old rules on restrain do not apply anymore.

One thing before you go through the figures. Defense on a unit depends not only on the armor type, but the armor rating. For example, pavisers might look weak in these figures but they still have super high armor rating and can take some punch.

Some conclusions from the figures
- Infantry is excellent damage to pavisers
- Pikemen do bonus damage to almost all melee units except pavisers and Templar Cavalry (what I called Temple Cavalry)
- Mage is good against heavy units like pavisers and heavy musketeers
- Musketeers now perform poorly against pavisers and Templar Cavalries. Bad against musketeers
- Archers and Arbalists, surprisingly, are rater all-round except against pavisers and Templar Cavalries
